Closed Accela

What does “Closed” mean on a building permit?

Also shown as: Closed (South Pasadena Accela)Closed Pay Fees Due (South Pasadena Accela)

The permit record has been closed. On South Pasadena's Accela portal, a bare 'Closed' status is ambiguous: it can mean the record was completed successfully OR that it was abandoned/withdrawn — you have to check the companion status for the reason. 'Closed - Complete' specifically means a successful finish; 'Closed Pay Fees Due' means the record was closed but outstanding fees remain.

What should you do when a permit shows “Closed”?

Check the companion or detailed status to learn whether 'Closed' means done or abandoned. If it shows 'Closed Pay Fees Due', pay the remaining fees. If the project was not actually finished, you may need to reopen or refile. Because a plain 'Closed' is ambiguous, do not assume your project is complete without confirming.
