What does “Plan Check Extended” mean on a building permit?
Also shown as: PC Extended (LADBS)Permit Extended (LADBS)
An extension has been granted on a deadline. At LADBS, 'PC Extended' means the plan check period was extended (after it would otherwise expire), and 'Permit Extended' means the issued permit's expiration date was pushed out by a supervisor. Either way, you have been given more time on a clock that was running out.
What should you do when a permit shows “Plan Check Extended”?
Use the extra time to complete whatever step was stalling — finish addressing corrections (if plan check) or resume construction and call for inspections (if the permit was extended). Confirm the new deadline so you do not need yet another extension.
