What does “In Review” mean on a building permit?
Also shown as: In Review (Accela)Under Review (Accela)In Review (South Pasadena — plan check actively underway)
Your plans have been assigned to a plan checker and are actively being reviewed for code compliance. On San Diego, San Bernardino, and South Pasadena Accela portals, 'In Review' / 'Under Review' means a reviewer is now looking at your plans. This is the core of plan check — the city is checking your drawings against the building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire, and zoning codes that apply.
What should you do when a permit shows “In Review”?
There is nothing to submit while a reviewer is working — wait for the review to complete. The outcome is usually one of two things: 'Corrections Required' (the reviewer found issues you must fix and resubmit) or 'Approved' / 'Ready to Issue' (your plans passed). If you submitted to multiple disciplines, all of them must finish before you can resubmit corrections.
