What does “EnerGov / Pomona In Review” mean on a building permit?
Also shown as: In Review (EnerGov / Pomona)Active workflow activity (EnerGov)
On Tyler EnerGov Self Service portals (the energov:* cities such as Simi Valley, Pasadena, Thousand Oaks, Carlsbad, and Glendale), the public status string ('CaseStatus') is shown raw. 'In Review' means plan check is underway — your application has been received and a reviewer is checking it against code. EnerGov's case-status vocabulary maps to three phases: Submitted / Submitted Online / In Review / Corrections Required = pending; Approved / Issued / Active / Finaled / Completed = active; Expired / Denied / Cancelled / Void / Revoked / Closed / Withdrawn = closed. (The City of Pomona also runs EnerGov but uses its own dedicated rule key.)
What should you do when a permit shows “EnerGov / Pomona In Review”?
'In Review' is a normal mid-pipeline state — no action is needed unless the status changes to 'Corrections Required,' which means the reviewer found issues you must resolve and resubmit. From 'In Review,' the next milestones are 'Approved' (plans cleared) and then 'Issued' (permit granted, work can begin). EnerGov status labels are configured per agency, so a specific city may use slightly different wording for the same step.
