What does “Recheck” mean on a building permit?

Also shown as: Recheck (LADBS)Recheck cycle (San Diego DSD)Resubmittal review (Accela)

You resubmitted corrected plans and the city is re-reviewing them. At LADBS, 'Recheck' explicitly means the plans are being re-reviewed after corrections were submitted. On Accela (San Diego DSD), the resubmitted corrections are reviewed in what the city calls the recheck cycle. This is a normal follow-up to a 'Corrections Required' round, not a new problem.

What should you do when a permit shows “Recheck”?

Wait for the re-review to finish. If the reviewer is satisfied, the status moves toward 'Verifications in Progress', 'PC Approved' / 'Approved', or 'Ready to Issue'. If the reviewer finds remaining or new issues, you may get another round of corrections. Each additional correction round can add time and, in some jurisdictions, additional fees.
